New Eyes
This past Friday, March 9th, I had my LASIK surgery. The surgery itself took 5 minutes and I was at the eye clinic for about 50 minutes total. It was pretty neat to be awake during the surgery and experience it. The surgery itself did not hurt at all. My eyes burned for about an hour and a half afterwards, but they tell you to rest for 3-4 hours after the surgery. I was finally able to fall asleep. My eyes are still sore and healing, but I can see very well without glasses or contacts! It takes a few months for my eyes to heal so I have to be very careful not to get poked in the eye during that time, but after about a week, my activities can go back to pretty normal.

I know, I look pretty huh? Hey, I just had major surgery and wasn't able to shower or put makeup on that day! The big plastic thing Sophia is wearing, is what I had to wear after surgery for the rest of the day. I have to wear them to bed every night for a week too, so I don't accidentally rub my eyes in my sleep. Yes, I will admit I wore them out Friday night to a pizza place with my family! I was not passing up Fat Lorenzo's pizza in an effort to be vain...

Many congrats! I must admit I'm a tad envious that you don't have to wear any lenses. =)
