Lasik
This past Friday I met with an eye specialist about having Lasik.
He said I am a good candidate - yeah! I have scheduled the surgery for March 9th. I am so excited to be able to see without having to wear contacts or glasses.
Just curious if anybody has had this done and what they think about it???

I haven't done it myself, but Kevin is looking at getting it done too. My sister and her husband both got it done and they had great results and both of them love it!
Good for you...i do like you with glasses on too...

Wow, that is cool that you are able to get that done. Heston & I would like to get it down eventually. My aunt had it done a few years ago and it worked out wonderfully for her! Good luck!!

Hi Jocelyn! That is exciting! This Thur. my eye doctor is having a Lasik seminar and I thought about going...they say I'm a good candidate. She also said that I should be sure I'm done being pregnant because eye prescriptions change with pregnancies [mine did] and don't always return to what they were. It be awful to spend the money and then end up wearing lenses again! However my eye doctor did have her eyes done before her pregnancy and had to wear glasses during the pregnancy; but her eyes returned to what they were and she doesn't need lenses now.
I do know an acquaintance that had a not-so-good experience with LASIK; Then there is a friend that had a wonderful experience with both eyes so-o much better now!
May yours be the best ever!

Jendi,
You aren't done being pregnant are you? My Dr. never said anything about that to me. My friend from work is the one who told me about her eye Dr. and she had a baby about a year after she had the surgery and had no problems and didn't have to wear glasses. I have about 5 friends who had it done and everything went great. There are places were you can get cheap Lasik for around $800 an eye, but I think they aren't as professional. Mine will cost about $1300 an eye. The only way I can afford that is because my work started a flex plan where they take money out of my paycheck every month, BEFORE taxes. The full amount is available to me on January 1st 2007 and is given on a credit/debit card.

Hello again,=)
That's great that you can get payment help with the LASIK. We have 0 insurance right now - so it's not a good time.
Not sure about done being pregnant...Would be OK if I am.
I pray your surgery and recovery goes great!
Have a good day! Jendi
