After the Holidays

Karise and I finally took down our Christmas decorations this past weekend. Our poor tree lost millions of needles every time it was touched. You can barely see my white tree skirt!

It made quite a mess as we dragged it out the back door. But, it only took us about 1/2 an hour to clean up all the needles thanks to a vaccuum with a hose.

It is sad to see all the decorations down, but nice to have more space in our reading/music room again.

O my gosh, I am amazed at all those needles! Holy Cow! :) That's what our tree looked like two years ago when we bought it from Home Depot (it had probably been cut 2 months already when we got it). Now I try to cut our own or get one from an actual farm. This year I learned not to get trees with too long of a needle. They clog up the vacuum hose. :(

I know how you feel about taking down the decor. I'm always a bit sad, but it's good to get everything cleaned up. The rooms always feels so spacious too! :)

Katie,

We did go to a tree farm and cut our tree down on Dec. 2nd. Guess we just didn't water it enough or pick a good one... Oh well. I still love the smell and look of a real tree. So, it is worth the extra work to me!
