Totally Hooked!
I took 2 digital photography classes and I am totally hooked! I have always loved photography, but now I have a passion for it. My next step is to pursue a certificate or degree in photography. I think I might start with a certificate and then possibly pursue a degree if I feel I want to take more classes. The difference between the 2 is that a certificate is offered through a lot of online or correspondent lessons and takes 9 months-3 years depending on how much time the student puts into it each week; a degree take 3-4 years and the student has to attend most classes at the University.
With my schedule right now, I feel it is better for me to take online or correspondent classes - not to mention a certificate is just under $1,000.00 where a degree would be much more! I have been told by various people in the professional photography field that my work itself is what is going to get me small jobs or a career in photography, more than what degree I have.
So, now it is just a matter of choosing which school to go with. The top school on my list is New York Institute of Photography - mostly because that is the only correspondent school I have received information from so far and it seems like a great program! Pray I will make the right decision in the schooling I choose.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Weren't you a counselor at PV when I was a waitress there? I am really into digital stuff with Photoshop right now. Digital scrapbooking, enhancing photos, etc.

Yes, I was Flaming Waters while you were a waitress at PV. That summer was so much fun!
