Single Today
I receive a newsletter via e-mail about once a week from Christianity Today's 'Singles' section. (cue the rolling of eyes from some) There are several great articles that really hit home with things I am dealing with as a single. While I don't always agree with the writer, I find encouragement knowing there are several other singles out there that are feeling the same things I do. For those interested in checking out the articles, you can find them at http://www.christianitytoday.com/singles/
I recently read an article by a guest writer to this column. It was concerning "THE QUESTION" that Singles are hit up by the most often. You know the one: "Why aren't you married?" Be it innocent 3 year olds that cannot grasp an un-married adult, all the way up to 65 year old friends who mean well and can't understand how 'a great catch like you' is still single. It isn't enough that others are asking this question, but I pester myself with this same question as well. Sure there are times when I am Spiritually strong and content with my current state of life. But, on a see-saw those days hang in the air at an equal balance to the days I question God's plan for my future. The last paragraph of the article offered a great answer to "THE QUESTION", as well as a great point to dwell on myself:
"...wouldn't it be something if the next time someone asked you, 'So, why aren't you married?' you paused, looked him or her in the eye, and then quietly replied, 'Honestly, the bottom line is pretty simple. The reason I'm not married is so that today the work of God might be displayed in my life.' "
Another great answer is: "For today I am called to be single. I cannot say about tomorrow."

Katie,
I am glad you and Tim could use this link! I think alot of coules that get married right out of college, find it hard to relate to older singles. I hope the articles will help you and your group.
